Nowhere is the hypocrisy of our "anti discrimination" policies more on display than in sports.
In the name of “fairness” and “equality” we have admitted women into physically demanding jobs by lowering the standards to accommodate them. Firefighters, EMTs, Police, Military… each of these sectors have much lower requirements for women than they do for men.
Why do they lower the standard? Do the laws of physics change by PC demand? Is the equipment a female EMT somehow lighter than the equipment a male carries? Do people in burning buildings weigh less for female firefighters than for males?
The “justification” is that, unless we lower the standards to allow more women into physically demanding jobs, we are somehow “discriminating” against them. Apparently though, it’s ok to discriminate against the men these substandard women work with by making them take up the slack.
So why do sports teams get to uphold their standards. When life and limb hang in the balance, we are forced to make accommodations, but when far more important things like medals, trophies and paychecks are at stake, we draw the line!
What would happen if the same “anti discrimination” laws were imposed on the NFL, NBA, FIFA or The Olympics themselves? What would happen if we outlawed segregation of the sexes in sports?
But of course, medals and trophies are far more sacred than national defense and saving lives… aren’t they.
