Poem Number One.

          Shadowed Dreams

I see the eyes, though I know they are not there,

Staring at me as my soul I did bare,

Truly all my life I have been alone,

No one there, only the bones,

Of the past as they slowly turn to dust,

Of the real world only one thing did I lust,

A single heartbeat, a single brain,

Someone to love and to stand in the rain,

To wait with me as eternity comes,

The longest journey we would have to run,

But alas, it’s all just a dream,

Seen in my eyes as just a gleam,

As that gleam turned into a glare,

There came a person who finally cared,

Took from the blink of insanities grip,

My mind, my life, my soul did rip,

Out of the abyss of total despair,

I stood there watching without a care,

As my dreams came crashing down,

Into his arms I was firmly bound.
