A poem about a girl whose experiences in life overcame her.
The long sleeves, covered the bruises.
Her long blond hair, masked the contusions,
and although everyone knew what was going on,
no one knew, what could be done.
She wrote notes, signing her mothers name,
There was always a reason, to skip gym class again.
She never spoke of it, and no one asked.
She knew better than to bring attention to it.
She heard all the whisphers, they were so loud.
The names they would call her, as she pushed through the crowd.
She should die, they said, “you digusting little pig!”
as they screamed the words at her, she went numb to everything.
So fat! so ugly! they pushed and shoved her.
and within the walls of her home, nobody loved her.
she closed her eyes, tucked tight in bed,
would they all be sorry? she hushed under her breath?
She wanted this, she thought, and gave up on beleiving,
In promises and God in the last breath of an angel leaving.
