Poem/story of a woman catching her husband in bed with a friend…

She awoke during the night, the sweltering heat was terrible,

even lying between sheets of white, just made sleep unbearable…

Her hand reached out with care, for husbands side of the bed,

but it was all bare, slowly she turned her head…

Remembered coming to bed early, had left the others drinking,

wasn’t in the mood for a party, now she laid here thinking…

Seems like the party was over, and everyone had gone home,

felt safe lying partially covered, perspiring in her bed alone…

She thought she heard a faint giggle, her ears pricked up in the night,

in her mind there was a little niggle, just hoped she wasn’t right…

But there it was again, the giggle became a more throaty moan,

the whispering of her husband’s name, a long silence and a longer groan…

The sweltering heat became secondary, she made her way to the door,

she felt weak and scary, but she couldn’t take it anymore…

With the light on in the hallway, she opened the door to the next room,

her husband had plenty to say, was obvious what she saw in the gloom,

Its said friends will always be friends, they are the only ones that care,

they’ll be with you till the end, a friend in need is a friend shared…

This was taking it to the extreme, he told her to go sleep at her mothers,

she couldnt cry couldnt even scream, tonights walk would be like no other…

Yes her husband and a friend, now were left to their own pleasures,

it would the start of the end, of once held valuable treasures…

When a women walks in love, her feet never touches the ground,

but when her love is trampled down, her walk is like thunder from above…

There is no immediate cure, no quick fix scheme,

nothing seems right or pure, sometimes you wish its a dream…

She would count the costs, she will cry seek build and plan,

take it as a gain and not a loss, for she is a woman……end

How does one really recover from unfaithfulness? It left a huge scar in my soul. You wrote it well!

Thank you 8shei8…I feel of all our emotions that loss of trust and faith is very devastating and very difficult to overcome, you are right it cuts right through your soul even through the marrows of our bones…

You wrote it just like it is….yet we must move on, regardless…we felt like we died, yet we are still alive….

A beautiful poem even in the sadness and hurt that comes from betrayal. I felt the emotions of this read. Very good work indeed.
