To my beloved…
Two score years of time hides in shine on skin
My love’s object not Alexandrian queen
Her grace surpasses every slim and thin
And ageing features will never shed green.
Oriental Velvet and silk feel tender
No desire to dwell in black silky curls
Still shocks and stills her body slender
Love oozes out when treasure unfurls.
Beauty surpasses all that fits poesy
Eyes, breaths, and silence our tools of love
My adding years still make her cheeks rosy
She, the mother of two, still stands far above.
No monuments our love needs in glory
My fairy’s silence completes our story.
