Where to turn when we reach the end When hope is all that is left?

I could see it in her eyes, all that weight.

Her hands filled with absent memories

And aching burdens lay on her plate.

Unwilling tears cannot fool a wounded heart,

Courage silenced by apprehension

Tears her once abiding faith apart.

Wings that once kept her safe and stable

Withered with no goodbye,

Left her alone, and feeling unable.

Where to turn when we reach the end

When hope is all that is left?

All the weight and burdens are lifted

Within the hands of a friend.
