Looking for ship wrecks can be a hobby, one I made up.

We set sail in no great rush to reach our destiny

To try and locate a ship wreck if any

We catch sight of a pod of whales

Out on our journey we don’t see many.

Using our maps and a compass

We pray for good weather to the powers that be

The weather is cloudy and over cast

As we dive into the sea.

We go diving below

Sharks check us out as they swim by

Exploring the coral reef that grow

Then we notice the wreck lying on her side.

We mark the location on our map with a dot

We take a closer look

Laying around scattered were canons, gold coins, the lot

Some items we took.

It was a really good find

We donated the stuff to a local museum

As not many wrecks of it’s kind

With its history uncovered people can go and see them.

Great poem and interesting hobby! I couldn’t do it because I get earaches when water goes in my ears. I am glad you are able to do this!
By the way, I also like the rhythm of your poems as I read them all!

Well done, it was very detailed, a real pleasure to read. I love your work and think ship wrecks have an eerie mystique about them. They are sad and tragic but I guess a triumph of mother natures part. Well written!
