This is a poem about something Idk.
Stop filling us with false hopes.
Is the glass half-empty or half-full?
I’m not agreeing with the latter,
it doesn’t matter.
You cut our hearts out,
just to prove they’re still beating.
Dimmed our stars,
just to prove,
you were keeping something behind closed doors,
but if we keep hopeful secrets,
we’re whores.
You never said we could do anything,
you said we’d always be nothing,
just like the one before us.
Don’t try and tell me the sky is as big as you and me.
Don’t try and sell me a fairytale bedtime story,
I’m not buying it,
I’m not buying in,
to the happiness you’re trying to paint,
with lies and deceptions,
just to be brought down again.
Just to be kicked in the shins.
If I’m not smiling,
it’s because I know we won’t win.
The naive have different thoughts,
the naive have faith in you,
but I’ve seen,
and I still can’t believe.
I know what you’ll do if I’m on the losing team.
Don’t tell me it’s okay,
because the scars haven’t faded away.
They’re reminders of a gradual decay.
Stop filling us with false hopes,
killing the dreams we had,
you’re a murderer,
now please bury yourself.
