The concept of the golden rule is alive and well in our society. It is a policy I feel we should all live by.
And some tender loving care
To shield me from this reality
I request a little humanity
I beg this action
A kindness shared reaction
Lift up my head when it is down
Turn my frown into a smile
Show me the way to a happier ground
Provide me the guidance I desire
Teach me values not greed
Mercy is a kindness value some do not exceed
It a sign of being the one who cares
Remember forgiveness work in both directions
The healing process is a wonderful thing
If done from the heart it is more effective
A slap on the back not a kick in my pants
Show some mercy not just to me
Show it to everyone in need
Because mercy shown might return someday
A kindness given is a blessing in many ways
