Tribute to my brother.
There was an age gap of six years
Between me and my big brother
But looking back
I realize he was like no other.
The whole time while we were growing up
Morning, noon and night
Like cats and dogs
We would fight.
But as time went on
Our relationship changed and grew
I would turn to him
For advice and everything he knew.
He put a lot of pressure upon himself
When my father passed away
Taking my dad’s place
He felt was the new hand he had to play.
Mom and I tried to help
Relieve his stress
However with everything we were going through
We too were a mess.
We had gotten to a point
Where we were becoming friends
We would hang out together
Good times didn’t seem to end.
Then one dreary December day
My brother was taken away.
We don’t understand God’s Plan
To take this wonderful Man.
I miss him on a daily basis
I regret all the wasted years
As I sit here looking back
With my eyes full of tears.
