A view on life from a distance.

As the cloud burst and rain pours in torrents
Under the tin shade of a corner side bus-stop
Few people take shelter and talk very softly
Of the water clogged street, the dirt and filth
The life becoming hell in this gloomy afternoon
Colorful shirts and trousers joining the crowd
Of old and young men, women and the children
Not supposed to whisper and smile right now
Yet peering at each others’ faces and roars to laughter
Saying some pleasantries and some nasty things
About the weather, people and surroundings
Rings of well chosen words float in the air
Empty bus, empty van, high speed cars go by
And water flow in rapid streams through the lanes
A bunch of kids wading through water in glee
Someone tuning a song, someone blow whistle
Raindrops sprinkle on their wet foreheads
Time to come closer shortens as drizzle subsides
And slowly hands and legs become free to move on
Leaving the bus-stop switching off into the silent mode.
