Something I have not witness.

I cannot remember being a witness to a completely silent movie

Even the ones without voices had music

The early director of old

Use the influence of music

To set the mood

I wonder if an ancient Roman plays

Was created in total silence

An experiment that did not work

A play without music perhaps did not produce an audience

A particular French horn sound is used in mystery and suspense

To add humor or comedy an oboe or clarinet sound is heard

Silent movie is not absent of sound this is clear

Sounds are often inserted to spark fear

From a Hitchcock type to a Star wars series film

The influence of what music is playing sets the thrill

I often jump upon hearing that sharp burst of sound

In a totally silent movie this would not be found

So imagine a movie without the use of sound

You will notice our dependence on our senses

Why music plays such an important role?

And the value it plays goes beyond what is shown

Great poem but I don’t think you could have a totally silent movie, it would be like watching paint dry!!

I enjoyed this one Will. How true it is when you hear the drum beat or violins or trumpets because each one will garner an image of triumph, fright or just plain edginess.
