A poem to promote child abuse awareness.

A little girl was sitting on the sidewalk playing with a leaf. Not a sound she did hear nor a word did she speak. She turned the leaf over and with her fingers traced the vein. So young a child to deal with such an awful pain.

Her father was a drinker, her mother didn’t care. On her body are the bruises that she was forced to wear. She always thought of dying at the tender age of six. For death must be better than such a pain as this.

She watches other children play and having so much fun. And wishes deep inside her that she didn’t have a silent tongue. For she was born without a voice and her parents called her a freak. And love and guidance is what shealways seeks.

There are children all around the world who are abused every day. They need our help to always keep them safe. I hope that all who read this will pass this to a friend. For it is time to get together and against child abuse take a stand.

Indeed it breaks my heart when I read stories about child abuse and neglect. A child should not have to suffer pain or fear. A great message for a horrendous subject.

Very sad poem for a just cause. I think the best we can do is help kids that we know are hurting and treat our own with respect so they will know better when they grow up.

There’s nothing more heartbreaking than the silent cries of a hurting child. God bless you for the heart He’s given you for each of them.
