My silly phobia of Hoodies.

What in the world is wrong with me?

I am always scared of people I can’t see.

Hoods are there to be worn on the head

So, why I am I always filled with dread?

When they put the hood up, I can’t see their face

Makes me wanna do the 100 Metres Race

As they walk towards me with their hoods up

I feel my heartbeat nearly come to a stop.

** This only worries me when it’s dark.

In UK, sometimes it’s dark at 4pm or 5pm.

I hope I grow out of this silly Phobia.

That’s a very cute rhyme. I feel nervous when I have my hood up in winter time because I wonder if anyone will think I’m dangorous. LOL!

Yea, they definitely look suspicious, especially if they try to cover the face also.

I’m not sure whether it’s really a phobia. It’s being cautious, a lot of crimes are committed by so called hoodies, so not surprising that people are concerned. Good post & poem. :-)

I guess it is due to the over-reaction from the UK media, which has made many people afraid of the “hoodie”.

I hope you get over this fear Elena, but totally understand why you have these feelings!

I am the same way. Its hard nowadays. You have to be careful.

In our country, it would be really weird to see people in hoodies unless people are caught up in the rain and have no umbrellas. :-)

    I must be silly too.

LadyE…I think a lot of the fear of hoodies is that they seem to greatly resemble the darkly cloaked and hooded grim reaper and no one relishes the idea of that kind of a visit…it is almost like hoodie wearers are part of a big gang…I too have problems with people who mask their appearance with hoods or face covers of any kind…including those who wear such garments according to ethnic/cultural backgrounds…I voted that I like this one…thanks and take care

I think it this a phobia shared by many as crimes are often committed by people wearing their hoods up. A great poem.

I’m the same… immediately do I see a hoodie… and I want to be 10 miles away in the other direction. They’re not so bad on their own… it’s groups of them that make me uneasy.

I understand how you feel – keep clear is the best advice

In the u.s. hoodies are used by gang banger to obscure their face from identification and therefore prosecution . Discernment is what is needed but lose you natural ability to sense danger.
