Poem:

It is not enough that we be superficially

in touch with reality;

we must also accept it as the unquestionable

basis of our mortality;

adjust our dealings to its

unchallenged authority;

sharpen our perspective in all areas of life

by paying attention to

the sound of its universal rhythm,

thus insuring our growth and development,

as we age. thereby

mitigating the harshness of fear,

doubt and uncertainty.
