A poem about a mother explaining to her daughter that even without her father in her childhood she was loved by her single mother.

My life was full of joy for

when a had one girl

I thought your father would be there,
to help raise you through all the growing pains.

When I realize it is going to be just me and not him

I felt overwhelmed with questions,

doubting if I could do this right

without him in our life.

Over years I watch you grow and blossom into a

young adult. For I know we had our up and downs,

but what you have achieved thus far says a lot.

Because as your mother, I gave you life

and allow you to become an independent young woman.

I may not have shower you with affection

when I should have, or praised you

more than the others, but I have always loved you.

You may not had a full time father in your life

But you have strive to overcome all the obstacles

he has put upon you. I know he was not apart

of your childhood, but he was always near your

heart.
