Acrostics, a type of poetry, began in ancient Greece to increase social skills and teach higher intellectual uses of the brain.

What word can you put a ‘take like this on’ ? Any word, phrase or even paragraph (although those are much more difficult to assign ‘acrostic diction to’) can you speak and discuss with eloquence and creative expression ?

What I like about studying poetry is how diverse and not strict nor conforming it can be when approached with open mindedness. Longer? Shorter? Rhyming or not ? Clear visualization or a subtle version of one ? I think quality in conveying a profound message is more important, well not important because that implies a rigid framework, how about a satisfying element.

I like stepping outside of the box, obviously to explore other realms explained by carefully chosen words offering visuals and images no calm could bring on so profoundly ! In my dream-state and writing poetry from those nudges, I found veering from the original world & word is the only way I have grown into what and who I am today.

I try to make the goal of each poem to convey a message. As a dedicated writer, I try to present my very best to mentor novice saplings spread their branches into unknown fields of thought on the tree of literary achievement.

A good explanation of the form. Thanks for this, a lot of folks do not know.

Thank you Reilley ! I recently was introduced to this delightful way of illiciting intellectual response from a group of ‘free thinkers’ that steer from traditional and spice it up some. The ‘acrostic’ poetry has been around since ancient times but when we do anagrams it is nearly the same concept used !
