When a loved one is dying, all you wish for is the end of their pain and that they go peacefully.
As you slipped away
I was glad that you looked peaceful
It made your torment seem surreal
almost like I was not sure it happened
but we witnessed every moment
things like that you do not forget
months of upset until you left
I so wish you never suffered
it is the last thing you want for your beloved
