Just been watching a dog chasing and biting her tail. Thought it might make a good poem. You decide.

She lay and began to doze,

her eyelids fell and she twitched her nose.

At this point she heard a sound,

her ears went up and she looked around.

And from the corner of her eye,

a movement and she wondered why.

What she spied began to shake,

“Behind me is a great big snake!!”

She bared her teeth and spun to face,

nothing but an empty space.

“Where the hell has that thing hid?”

“Did I scare it off, I bet I did!

She was proud, this silly mutt.

but then turns to see “Its on my butt!!”

“This thing is stuck right on my back!”

“The only thing to do, attack!!”

She dived for it but then it proved,

a slippery fiend because it moved.

She spun around to catch this foe,

she spun fast and she spun slow.

One final spin she thought “That’s it!”

“I’ve got this thing!” and so she bit.

Then the dog began to wail,

Because the silly sod had bit her tail!!
