Poetry after a bad week at work.

I’ve been dancing over vipers these last five days
Cautiously dodging their poisonous ways
Hissing, spitting and swarming me
My chest is tight, but I can’t flee
Always there’s a boa constricting my neck
Squeezing tighter and tighter each day
Each time I try to tear it away
It sucks the life from my lungs
Always I am forced down a certain path
Or I face the venomous vipers’ wrath
Maybe I’m strong enough to survive their bite
But not tonight,
Not tonight
