Nature poetry, seasonal poetry about winter, a snow storm.

Image via Wikipedia

There is a snow storm smothering the earth.

The dew drops freeze,

on the naked branches of the trees.

The whistling wind blows a scary tune,

and long for the lovely month of June.

In the fireplace the fire is dancing,

casting shadows on the wall.

I stand by the window dreaming of Fall.

I decide to take a long winter’s nap,

as I pull up my socks and fasten my cap.

The storm will be over in a short while,

spring will return and make the earth smile
