The distance created in a marriage by apathy, and the pain it creates.

She cries out in vain
No one hears her pain
A stone sits within her chest
Like an unwelcome guest
Her husband never hears her cry
Slowly she let outs a sigh
Is there any relief in sight?
She lies awake at night
They haven’t touched in so long
They bump while they sleep
She wakes and starts to weep
She’s cold and so alone
He snores and turns his back to her
If only she could find the cure
The cure for distance between the two of them
For heart aches and love gone dim
For an understanding that’s gone awry
For an explanation of how and why
