In this poem a girl wants to dig a way out of her unhappiness.
So I Dig
Digging for a reality.
A reality in which I
Am not considered a freak.
An idiot, worthless, stupid.
I keep digging ’til one day I
See a man in the very hole
Which I’ve dug for myself.
His name is Death and I’m
Not worthless to him.
He says one day he’ll take
Me but I have to wait ’til
then, in the reality I try to
dig myself away from.
At first I felt dread. But he
Comforted me and made me
Know that one day he’ll come
For me.
Take me away from this reality
That I hate so much.
Never to return.
I’ll be gone forever more.
So I rise from the hole.
Digging no more.
