About the first time I really bonded with my now husband.
Staring within your eyes,
There is so much I can see.
The boy you were,
The man you’ve come to be.
Thoughts and emotions,
Unheard and unseen.
Humor and hurt
Could come of this be
One and the same?
Or two personalities
Struggling to be the same?
I can see
The one I despised
Yet at the same time
I see who I love
And hold dear to my heart.
Almost as if
Looking through the eyes of a fly.
Millions of perceptions to examine.
Although I wonder,
What I’ll be allowed to see clearly.
