So passionately you write
Of body aches
And winter wind
Of your family’s demands
Your love of sunsets
And being a baseball fan
Had you been this passionate about me
Cared enough to write a line
I’m not saying we would’ve been saved
But it would’ve helped to pass the time
Four years I gave you of my life
Stood by you through good and bad
Fought hard for your beliefs
Jumped through hoops for your mom and dad
I would’ve loved an occasional sonnet
Would’ve settled for a haiku
You weren’t inspired to do that
Sadly the words never came through
