Just something I jotted down while distracted in class.
Five months ago I began my sojourn
to shout my thoughts off vaunted mountaintops
to be rid of the burdens I had borne
and find my solace above the weather
Was there remission to be had in flight?
Once I had stood the line and turned the tide
but there, finding no recourse on my own
left those I led, left those I loved for dead
Now I stand alone atop white-crested hills
counting the seconds to eternity
screaming for salvation from nothingness
fighting my shadow at every turn
A lady in white handed me a sword
though claiming no answers to my questions
whispered in my ear what she had found
and wielding this strength, returned me to fight
