For now
I am alone
I sleep with chill around me
I wake and notice (colder still)
this space beside me
this chasm ‘tween my arms

For now
I hear the wind
see the mountains
feel the water
For now I laugh
smile
take refuge
For now I think
dream
sigh
alone

For now
I hope
change
accept defeat
For now I listen
want
feel

For now
I love
For now I love
alone.
