It’s going to be
A very wonderful day
But first things first
I must get things underway.

I must make the bed
I must still get dressed too
But, ahh, it’s still early
With plenty of time to do.

Earlier I went out with my coffee
Deciding to walk across the lawn
Ten feet away was a big ole deer
In the woods behind him mama and fawn.

He stood there just looking at me
As I stopped, staring at him too
No one moved except the fawn prancing in the leaves
So I continued my walk as I’d planned to do.

And I swear he just stayed there
For three minutes or more
With both wide eyes on me
Still not sure.

But as I went about my business
So did he
Leaving joy in my heart
At seeing the family of three.

As I witness God’s blessings
More every day
More of life’s beautiful things
He brings my way.
