Believing that there is still hope for improvement in the human condition.
Scouting for virtue,
What marinated in the mind escaped the pen,
Voiding the promise of interesting thought
Mouth went to potty, acts became hysterical,
All in the name of instant identification
Today’s darkness has matured into early light,
Sponsored by a forgotten shadow,
Face painted in what counts for integrity,
Marching down a road named after a deceased president, representing a semblance of normalcy
Yet until the Earth we know is put to sleep,
We can always carry the optimism that someday we’ll be polished
