To the Muse who guides me.

Once, I cast about in futility

searching for a pure heart

determined to acquire love

one worthy of my part.

Seemingly without notice

the love I so desired

was already in my universe

a friend that I’d acquired

Both beautiful and courageous

she’d been through fire and flame

a heart that longed for loving

but, I withdrew to my shame.

For, I felt I wasn’t worthy
to claim this lady’s heart
and broken hearted I retired
to give her future better start.

I wailed in the years that followed
disgusted, I’d given up
and dining on the hateful taste
I ate ashes for my sup.

Somehow the light kept burning
through years she wasn’t there
and with my poor heart hurting
I discovered she still cared.

Now, I am trying vainly
to rekindle her hearts trust
too many tears had passed by
and I knew I couldn’t rush

Two years have passed now, slowly
and again I feel the call
her heart is somehow beckoning
and once again I fall.

So, here’s to my hearts perfection
this gorgeous, lovely one
Misty MyChelle, darling one

 the rising, setting sun.

This poem brings to mind one of my great regrets. After 30 years I think about her often. I hope she’s happy.

I am unquestionably, a lucky man to get another opportunity at this one. Thanks for reading Guy.

And she is a lucky woman to get another opportunity with a man who is sensitive, romantic, articulate and who tells her that she is gorgeous and courageous.

    That’s wonderful, she’s a lucky lady.

Actually, I am the lucky one. She is all those things and more and she deserves the very best things in the world. I just hope I get a chance to find out if I am up to the challenge.

I love the way you put your heart out there for everyone to see. It is plain to see that you are in love. Beautiful poem.
