The loss of a child is the most painful one of all. I hope that this brings a small sense of peace to those parents who have endured the unimaginable.
Sometimes Angels fly too soon and it’s hard to let them go;
But rest assured that now they walk upon the streets of gold.
No tears remain, all fear is gone, and darkness has no place;
As Christ the Lord, enthroned on high, extends a warm embrace.
Their time on earth was brief, it’s true, but no measure can be made;
To gauge the joy they left behind in memories that cannot fade.
And though to us their loss may seem endured before its time;
The call is God’s alone to make, it’s never yours or mine.
Perhaps he looked upon their smiles, so radiant and bright;
And felt it best to call them home to be our guiding light.
Precious ones whose hearts were found too pure to roam the earth;
They now resides in Heaven’s realm, reflective of their worth.
So though we may not understand the Father’s reasons why;
He looked upon each precious child and called their name to die.
Of this we can be certain… if he were searching for the best;
He has them now within his reach, for we’ve laid them down to rest.
