I have written this poem a week ago and it deals with love and the nostalgia one can feel for someone who is now very far away.

Today she parted from my embrace, she left, she went, she’s gone

Different intents fate pursued for its ways are whimsical and wan

I’d hoped she was here to stay, to lay in my arms, to stray from my sorrow

And now I’ll await for weeks the day in which yesterday shall be tomorrow

She is all my distant and dreary dreams, my lofty wants and inborn desires

Her passion enflames my heart as the fire of love’s thousand ardent pyres

She is all my wishes scattered upon the isles of life lost in the oceans of silence

And my senses are conquered by the scent of her skin in a sweet summer dalliance

Her kisses burn my lips moist and delicate, her caresses flare up my cheeks

She ekes my lifelong certainties as every passing day loving words to me she speaks

I whisper her name to myself when we are apart and know her love true and tender

She shares my yearnings, engenders my reveries and renders my life a living splendour

You are my setting sun, my dawn, my midday star as to future lives my dreams are flying

And know that I vow to love you now and forevermore of a gentle love soft and undying
