Sonnet of the Riot
By: John Aspen P. Catingub
Set loose not the mercy, but the revolt
Succumb to the masses and tragedies
Let chorus of screams reflect lightning bolts.
Let black blood run right at mocked majesties.
Like ravens writhing amongst swelling swarms,
Like lions catch prey, Like the hordes of hell,
Spread the plague of poverty by their charms,
And annihilate the drifts that we dwell.
Let slip the chaos, spread like the ravens.
Let slip the dogs, like the hordes of hell.
Burn bright chaos and annihilate their havens,
For the masses hath come to where they dwell.
Rend, stab, kill, dismember, all the while maim
For what they hath done to us – all the same.
