To dream, to reach for man’s desire, the chance to be free! Liberty is a food the soul needs!
SONNET – THE SONG OF FREEDOM
I wake, I see, I long for always thee!
My life, my mores, my freedom ever be;
A land with liberty abounding there,
Freedom showing inside borders so fair;
Alas, ’twas a vision – some dream of hope,
A spark, the burning – true boldness of scope;
Mine eyes have seen glory – this august plan,
Greater than mortals, and more grand than man!
A dream, ambitious – to light the whole world,
Noble aim – liberty’s excellent pearl;
The flame which kindles inside chests of man,
Grows stronger, brighter, the harder she’s banned;
So wake, and see, the tree of liberty,
She lives and breathes, when men yearn to be free!
