As roses spilling dewdrops on my heart… (A Thousand Days, part 3)
As roses spilling dewdrops on my heart,
Anticipation sweet and so sublime,
Just waiting for the moment to arrive,
And then perhaps we’d make a perfect start.
This knight and I who’d almost had a day,
Once long ago, but it was not to be,
Whose eyes remind me of the very sea,
I left behind along the trodden way.
His laughter was like music in my head,
His smile was such a tender memory,
His hands so strong yet gentle holding me,
A heart like few that I have ever known,
A dream of love that still has yet to grow,
Awaiting here so softly in my stead.
