This morning as I opened up my eyes… (A Thousand Days, part 5)

This morning as I opened up my eyes,
And turned my head to see my true love’s face,
Though in my mind it cannot be erased,
The empty space came much to my suprise.
I realized it all had been a dream.
Sweet prince you had not really been to call.
Had my imagination played it all,
Or was there just a tear in the grand scheme?

I swear I heard your soul call out to mine.
You pulled me close and then confessed your heart,
And though a thousand times you’ve torn mine out
I could not forsake yours from the start.
I can’t believe you’ve ever had a doubt,
That I would love you ’til the end of time.
