I made a goal to write a sonnet every Sunday, at least for the next little while. Here’s the first installment. Tell me what you think.
The firmaments shine bright when you are near;
You are the sun in my supreme orbit.
My life is best when you my soul have lit.
When I’m with you my gloomy skies are clear;
The clouds are chased away by love sincere.
You do remove the sadness, every bit,
Because our love is such a perfect fit;
With you I’ll never need to shed a tear.
But here I am without you, all alone.
The sun has set and now my world is dark.
Beside my side I need you evermore.
It’s not enough to just talk on the phone.
Without you near my life is just a chore.
Chase away the clouds – bring back the spark.
