A poem about a time when I felt heartbroken.

A love to be sought,

An illusion its not,

A peaceful feeling,

That cannot be bought,

To think back on that sad day,

To decide which path to choose,

To see which way my mind will choose,

To know also what I could lose,

The truth unseen,

The love unknown,

Then we find,

Whose thoughts are shown,

In this world without color,

All darkness, no light,

There sadness prevails,

Not a smile in sight,

My grin in the real world,

Means nothing to me,

Just another fake thing,

In my memory,

But in the corners of my mind,

Where I cannot be found,

The screaming of my tortured heart,

Is the only sound,

It is never-ending,

Like the Energizer Bunny,

Unlike the musical rabbit,

This isn’t as funny,

I can hide it from all,

And no one would know,

Only in my mind,

The repeating words will flow,

I love her,

And she loves me,

But unlike some,

It can’t be,

She is afraid of something,

That I can’t see,

So I don’t know the words,

To set her mind free,

But fate hates me,

And true love collided,

Now she’s with the one,

To whom I confided,

Is that why I write stories,

With death and sorrow,

And make it seem like,

There is no tomorrow,

This is why I write,

Of heartbreak and sadness,

To release my dark thoughts,

And feelings of madness,

I wish I could write,

About happiness and joy,

But its like a sinking ship,

Trying to deploy,

Without her I’m nothing,

A dead piece of grass,

Or a classroom,

Without a class,

But the question is,

Should I wait around,

And let my memory,

Crush me to the ground,

Or should I move on,

To something new,

Knowing every day,

That I’ll be thinking of you,

Is this what you want for me,

Sorrow and pain,

With my teardrops rolling,

Like drops of rain,

My heart is a pincushion,

A needle per beat,

Every second,

It nears defeat,

I will live,

But my heart will not,

With nothing there,

Just a blank spot,

A momento of a love,

That used to be,

Forever reminding,

Of you leaving me.
