This poem describes the feeling of ones battle within.

See the new born star
Feel the raging storm
Sailing seas as passions pleased
From the life that we lead
Futures told through gypsies gold
As prophecies of truths are sold
The time shall come
When you call upon me
I’m the one that will set you free
Setting your mind at ease
As long as you do as I say
And not as you please
Who knows you better
For you than me
The choice is yours
So ease your mind
No one will know
But you and me
I’m just your soul
Speaking to you
You know what to do
Suicide is the way it should be
Cut your wrist and watch it bleed
Take some pills and fall asleep
Or just get a shot gun
Bring an end to this grief
Oh soul of mine
You should know
That suicide not is not for me
It’s the cowards way you see
If you know what I mean.
I’ll fight this through
Until the end
Grab my hand and we’ll
Make it my friend
There is no way you can win
So grab my hand
I’ll make you my friend
We’ll fight together
Until the bitter end.

That is so heartfelt and profound, writing can be one of the most effective ways of dealing with our demons, I truly hope it is helping you deal with yours. The emotions are really strong here.

Wow…to think that many people lose that battle within themselves. Very well done…the ending shows you are not beaten, you are stronger.

You’re right, suicide is not the answer and it is an act of cowardice. It seems as though you’ve described the battle of good and evil that continues in all humans. The ability to write such a heartfelt poem indicates you’ve spent a good deal of time searching for answers. Beautiful work.

To me, suicide is not cowardice, but can be a very brave act. Kamikaze pilots in WWII, people on deaths bed that do it out of selflessness to spare their family the agony and expense of a drawn out illness, and the immeasurable pain some people experience with deep depression. Depression is not sadness, true depression is much more: to call it cowardice when you cannot experience that particular persons agony is …. well I’ve probably ticked off enough already. To those that may ask, yes I have lost friends to suicide, and, also I have a brain injury which gave me the gift of deep, untreatable depression.
Nice work, even if I disagree! :)
    Thanks,
    Clay

The message here is that one cam conquer the ills: whether it is feelings of anxiety, depression suicide.etc. They become a stronger person in the end.

We are our own best friend or our worst enemy.

Wow, you touch a deep measure in this. I agree all too often we let our shadow chase us when under sunny skies. May the soul return always to its truest nature which is love.
