A love poem.
You shine like the sun –
constant, radiant, warm
Fill up my world with your essence
Hold me close to your light
My thoughts of you consume me
echo through my existence,
the sweetest song I’ve ever heard
I want to breathe you in
Air full of honeysuckle on a sparkling Summer day
You lead me to enchanted places
where fireflies dance like jewels in the darkness
Wrap me up in velvet shadows now,
Crown me with a shimmering veil of stars
Kiss me ’til I die from loving you
And I don’t want to leave this magical world
Don’t want these days to dissolve into a harsh reality
of human frailties and imperfections and annoyances
Do I have to leave this?
Let me hold onto the raindrops on the rose petals
Your soul is beautiful,
like a deer in the mist at dawn
Let me see you so always
As the cool breeze at dusk blows down from the mountain
I want to catch it in a crystal flask
drink it, breathe it,
let it wash over me
hide it in my heart
to keep it with me forever
