This is a short poem that I have made about a Spartan’s life.

A meeting of Gods in a heavenly hall,

To talk about Ravana, hated by all.

He tortured the gods who could not react,

For with Brahma they had a pact.

Dasharata longed for a son,

Though he did not have one.

A high priest made a sacrifice to the gods,

When out of nowhere appeared Agni, the god of fire.

Agni appeared with a bowl of rice,

To give to Dasharata’s three wives.

Dasharata was grateful for this, yes he was,

He thanked the god and off he was.

He gave some of the rice to each of his wives,

And they each bore a son of the wise.

Rama,Lakshmana,and Bharata were their names,

Though they were loved in their own different ways.

Queen Kaikeyi was upset,

For Rama was about to be appointed king,

She asked her husband to get rid of him, make her son,

Bharata king, and send Rama to the forest for 14 years.

Stunned he was, King Dasharata,

But he obeyed as he was asked, for he had a pact.

Rama obeyed his father and went to the woods,

But Sita, could not bear to see her husband leave,

And off she was to be with Rama,

But Lakshmana couldn’t bear to see his brother

Leave either and went with them too.

In the forest the two brothers encountered an evil

Demoness who disguised herself as a beautiful woman,

At first sight the demon fell I love with the elder brother

And asked him for marriage, confused Rama was,

He refused this angered the evil demoness.

The evil demoness accused Sita od Rma’s refusal,

So then she attacked her, yes she did,

The two brothers rushed to demon and chopped off her nose and ears,

This angered her, yes it did, so off she went to her brothers.

One of the brothers named Khara came,

With an army of 14,000 demons, like a game,

Rama fought ferociously, yes he did,

But then Ravana raced off in his chariot with Sita,

And Rama was shocked to see his wife gone,

And then Jatayu, god of vultures, followed,

But Ravana chopped off his mighty wings.

Then Hanuman, god of monkeys, found Sita’s neckalace

Yet he had not known, he also found Rama who was scared

To his bones, Rama asked of Hanuman to save Sita and to take his ring,

So Sita shall know she can trust Hanuman,

Hanuman came with a mighty army of monkey’s and bears

To Ravana’s kingdom, Lanka,

There he destroyed Ravana, saved Sita, and returned her to Rama.

Rama and Sita returned to their own kingdom of Kosala,

And Rama was crowned as king.

he gods were free of Ravana, and all ended with happiness.
