Spastic Sparky Dog a poem by Jennifer Jo Fay A poem about puppies and all the crazy things they do. A must read poem for dog lovers.
Spastic Sparky Dog
Yes, you know him.
You have one in your house,
or else you are going to get one
soon.
Maybe for the holidays.
Let’s face it, they sure are cute!
Everyone simply loves a cute little
baby puppy!
They shine their adorable
play with me eyes at you
and you are smitten.
Well, then the fun begins.
They are needy,
they get big fast.
Sometimes you get kids that
are afraid
when Sparky comes trampling in.
He jumps all over them
as he is just an excited puppy.
He wants attention too!
He begs, and hovers, and wags his tail.
He is just happy to see you
and wants to play.
Sometimes kids just get a dog
and then think he is a
christmas ornament.
Sometimes there comes an ultimatum.
The dog has to go
so you can focus on your children.
And maybe when they are older
they can get a dog again.
Try an older dog next,
they are satisfied
to just be loved.
A puppy tries to devour.
They chew everything in sight.
Give him your child’s teddy bear
and in ten minutes
it will be destroyed.
They’re good at breaking gates,
no matter what you do.
And the bigger they are
the harder it is to get them
back in the mudroom
where usually dogs belong.
Unless if they’re good,
then they get their spot on the couch.
But it’s great to have pets,
it’s something to take care of
and love it to death.
So be careful, before
choosing your dog.
And if you win $500 bucks
on the radio station
like I did,
think hard if you want
to spend it on a puppy.
But their cuteness
will get you in the end.
Enjoy!
