A poem inspired by a spider crawling up the wall behind my computer.

.
I’m not afraid of spiders
Or wonder if they’re there
When sitting down outside
I don’t look ‘neath the chair
.
I’m not one to check the eaves
When walking out the door
If I spot a cobweb hanging
I don’t want to explore
.
If a spider comes inside
It doesn’t bother me one bit
You won’t see me taking off
Like a banshee in a screaming fit
.
A spider gets frightened
When it sees me coming near
There’s no need for me to recoil
With apprehension and fear
.
So now my spider affirmation
Has been repeated for the day
I’ll just check that dark corner
With my can of spider spray.
