The cycle of life.
Looking out from my bedroom window
I watched the cherry blossoms flutter,
Scattering the sea breeze,
pinking the lawn,
mingling with grape hyacinths
and dots of yellow primroses.
It felt so familiar
as Spring has returned.
The cycle of life begins anew.
Catching my reflection in the mirror,
I wondered where I was
in the Spring of life.
I thought of the great passing of time,
the countless lives lived,
of the many blossoms
scattered through my mind.
Seeing an aging face
looking back at me,
the sweeping laughter lines
slanted grooves and creases
of countless smiles and trials.
I lingered a moment in my young years
of a blonde, blue eyed girl.
With the flick of my hair,
I could catch the roving eyes
of many a young man.
Watching the cherry blossoms
sprinkle the air,
I feel content to bloom
in my cycle of life.
I love the person in the mirror.
I feel at peace with who I see.
This is my time, I am me.
It feels so familiar.
