A lovely spot on one of my many walks.
Perched on top of rocky cliffs, with no shelter from the elements, that blasts this coastline.
Stands the remains of the Chapel of St Mary’s of the storms
Ever vigilant as she keeps watch over the vastness of the sea
Encircled by memorial stones bearing witness to the life’s
Not only of fishermen, blacksmiths, shoemakers and masons
But the reunion of families
This is not a bleak place, but a resting place for memories
The medieval architecture and 18th century gravestones
Illustrate the passing of time
Were loved ones proudly, laid their cherished dead.
