We can all have moments, but with effort we will prevail.

The depths of hollowness surround the falling man

As uncontrollable events plunge him to his death

Yet, upon rock bottom, he can stand, looking up

He can see the light, so faint, but yet evident

His insatiable desire to fill the internal void of reason

Leads him, as hand upon hand, assists his climb

With his eyes now only looking up, not in or down

He overcomes the initial fall by reaching to feel solid ground

Yes, we can prevail if only we believe and don’t give up.

I’ve felt like I’ve hit rock bottom on so many different occasions, its not even funny. But, the feeling when you see that dim light of hope fills your being with such deep serenity, and boundless hope, that I wouldn’t have wanted any other way. Beautiful poem, Michael.
