star shining bright

i have seen you before

i sit and look up

in this beautiful night sky

when was the last time

that i gazed upon your light?

i remember as a little girl

seeing you at night

and speaking with you

without words but

filled with thoughts

pouring out my heart

and here we are again

for a little while

i sent you all my love

and in my surprise

my dear star shining bright

you have honored me tonight
