This is a poem about spending most of your life with the same person and the connections that were made.

With the same woman for 56 years
She had gone and left him
Alone and in tears

His wife had passed away
A year ago today
He was so lonely
He had so much to say

Oh how he missed her
She would have cared
Even the little things
They would have shared

He began to realize
His pain was a constant flow
Time was not standing still
It was just moving much too slow

No one was there
No one would listen
He was nothing more than an empty shell
Slowly starving for attention

Where was the sun
Torn and breaking
All he wanted was to stay in bed
Escaping the weariness
From his angry heart breaking

He wanted to lie down
And be with his wife
If he was with her
He wouldn’t feel this strife

He needed more then this
He needed his wife
Giving it no more thought
He opened the bottle of pills
And ended his lonely life

This poem is so sad, but the emotions run deep and true. Very nicely done.
