A.N.Trani.

Silence fills the space between your lips

But your thoughts create the darkness

Between your teeth.

I remember the hours when your promises

Were like crushed velvet against my cheek

Nothing had ever felt so soft

Or so rich.

In the moments when the sun sets

As King Midas touches the corners of my world

I think of you and a weight fills

The hole you left behind.

I try to remind myself that reality

Is subjective and subject to improvisations

Much like memory

But every time that I see you

It is reconfirmed that you are even better

Than I last recalled you.

I am just a purchased bird,

To fly around with aching eyes and

Fluttering wings

In a cage of the possible

-not meant for me.

There is some good imagery here. It flows well.
