A.N.Trani.
Fragments and broken paragraphs
As the traffic lines converge
Clouds hanging closer to the planet
Like the whispers of ghosts
For the first drop to fall
Messy stains on my windshield
So sure I knew it all
I don’t have protection against-
The wind picks up
To lay quietly in the branches
Of the trees that pass me by
And the leaves clink together
In an angry flash
As my universe begins to shake
And the tension among angels
Breaks for the first storm of Fall
Smearing the blood in my veins
I never knew anything at all
I don’t have protection against-
The people walk faster now
Maybe they can see through my window
The fog and humidity collecting on the glass
I want them to keep walking past
More natural than human
Spirit battling against the poison
Pumping through my veins
Thoughts continue
Crashing like the clouds
As the connection between molecules
Snap and the lines begin to blur
Between chemical and human
While the skies scream of chaos
And the plants whisper of order
In a system where the parts were pre-arranged
As the question remains
For the whole thing to fall
Leaving my thoughts behind
In the gravity of it all
I don’t have protection against
